Meet Your Therapist
Welcome to Garden of the Mind Counseling, PLLC, a space where growth, healing, and transformation can truly take root. I’m Jameshia Hunter, LCMHCS, the owner and founder of this practice.
Just like a garden, our minds need care, attention, and nurturing to flourish. I believe that with the right support, each person can cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and peace. My mission is to provide a compassionate and supportive space where teens and adults can explore their experiences, process challenges, and grow into the healthiest versions of themselves.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Bennett College and my Master’s degree in Counseling from North Carolina A&T State University. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of clinical and leadership roles that have shaped my approach to counseling. I’ve worked as a School Counselor, a Clinical Supervisor for Guilford County Schools, and a Clinical Director for a large private practice, where I guided clinicians and supported the development of high-quality, client-centered care.
Through these experiences, I’ve learned that growth—whether in individuals or in teams—requires patience, consistency, and compassion. These are the same principles I bring into every counseling relationship.
At Garden of the Mind Counseling, I provide virtual counseling services for teens and adults, offering accessible, flexible support for today’s busy world. My approach is grounded in authenticity, collaboration, and the belief that every person’s journey is unique and worth tending to.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and trying new restaurants—moments that remind me of the joy that comes from connection and discovery.
Let’s work together to nurture your growth—one session, one seed at a time.
